Discovering the World of Senor Salsa
Established first in 1947, Art Campos was a pioneer in the Mexican Food Industry. Art was one of the first to manufacture corn chips that were sold to Frito Lay and then started to manufacture corn tortillas after Frito Lay's distribution center moved to Southern California.
Art started selling tamales, burritos and tacos out of his deli in 1951. He also served his delicious tortilla chips and fresh salsa that was a big hit with all his patrons. In 1964, he started "Senor Campos" Mexican Restaurant franchises where the key features were his delicious salsa and fresh-cut tortilla chips!
Arts son, Stephen Paul Campos is the owner of Senor Campos Salsa. He worked with is father at the young age of fourteen. He enlisted in the US Army and fought with the 199th. Light Infantry Brigade in 1968. Upon returning home he worked for his father and owned and operated three Senor Campos restaurants. Art Campos passed away in 1995 but left a huge legacy.
